How Parking Spot Saver handles location and the notes you save with each spot.
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Parking Spot Saver application ("the app") handles information when you use it. Parking Spot Saver is designed to do one thing well — remember where you parked — and to ask for as little data as possible in the process. There is no account, no sign-in, and no background tracking.
1. Information We Collect
Location
The app uses your device location only in response to a direct action: when you tap "I parked here" to save a spot, when you tap "Navigate back" to route to it, and when the map view is opened to display the saved spot. Access is requested as "When In Use" only — the app never receives your location while it is closed or in the background.
Saved coordinates are stored locally on your device and are used to display the pin on the map, to generate a human-readable address, and to hand off to your preferred navigation app when you request directions.
Reverse Geocoding
To turn the coordinates of a saved spot into a street address (for example, "ul. Marszałkowska 15, Warsaw"), the app uses Apple's system geocoding service. Only the coordinates of the parking pin are sent to that service; no other information about you or the app is included.
Photos and Notes (Pro)
If you attach a photo or note to a saved spot, the photo and the text are stored locally on your device alongside the spot record. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Parking Timer Notifications (Pro)
If you start a meter countdown, the app schedules a local notification on your device to alert you before the timer expires. No push data is routed through our servers.
Diagnostics
The app may collect anonymous crash reports and basic diagnostic data (device model, operating system version, app version, non-identifying error traces) to help fix bugs and improve stability. This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to reconstruct where you have parked.
Support Requests
If you contact support, we receive only what you choose to share — typically your email address and the contents of your message.
2. How We Use Information
- To save your parking spot, display it on the map, and route you back to it when you ask
- To deliver the parking timer notifications you configure
- To maintain stability, diagnose crashes, and improve performance
- To respond to support requests you send us
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your location or your parking history for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the ones you actively trigger.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data. When you tap "Navigate back", the app opens your chosen navigation app (Apple Maps or Google Maps) with the destination coordinates; from that point on, the third-party navigation app handles the routing under its own privacy policy. A small number of trusted third-party services may be used solely for crash reporting and basic analytics; none of these services receive your location, saved spots, photos, or notes.
4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Your active spot, parking history, photos, and notes are stored locally on your device. Application data is protected by iOS file protection at rest.
- Clearing a spot inside the app removes it from local storage.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored parking data.
- Diagnostic data is retained only for as long as needed to investigate issues and is not linked to you personally.
5. Children's Privacy
The app is rated 4+ on the App Store, meaning its content is suitable for all ages. It is, however, designed and intended for drivers, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's use of mobile applications. If we become aware that a child's personal information has been collected without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.
6. Your Rights
Because your data is stored locally, you can clear the active spot or wipe parking history directly inside the app at any time. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete data we might otherwise hold about you (for example, from support correspondence), and to withdraw consent where applicable. You can also revoke or change the app's location permission at any time in your device Settings under Privacy › Location Services.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, our practices, or applicable law. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or on this page; continued use of the app after an update indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
8. Contact
Privacy-related questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
